The Mechanical Engineering department is a major branch of ACET, It offers comprehensive Undergraduate&Post Graduate Curricula to the students as per Anna University norms in respect of both the theoretical and practical aspects of the course. A team of well trained faculties are doing their best to promote the developmentt to a higher level.
The Mechanical Engineering Department work together in a cordial atmosphere to the achievement of excellence in education.Our Classes promote frequent, direct interaction between professors andstudents, greatly enhancing the learning process.
Laboratory courses in several mechanical engineering areas provide intensive experience in experiments/data Design, measurements and analysis. Students receive experience in designing through in our CAD/CAM lab..

In-plant training was arranged in “MAHLE FILTER SYSTEMS” located at Mahindra City, Chennai on 23.01.2017. S. Praveen Kumar and G. Sanjeevi from Final Year Mechanical Engineering were taken to undergo designing, moulding, welding and assembling of air filter, frame and Engine head cover.

Some of our students were taken to visit the internal exhibition arranged by the CVRDE-DRDO at Avadi, on 21.01.2017.This CVRDE mainly deals with designing, developing, manufacturing prototypes and performance evaluation and transfer of technologies of Tracked Combat Vehicles, Specialist Tracked Vehicles and Products for Aerospace Secondary Power Drive Applications.

For creating awareness and gaining certain exposure on this issue, a guest lecture entitled ENERGY EFFICIENT AND GREEN ENERGY TECHNOLOGIES was arranged on 06.01.2017 at 1.30 P.M. in Conference Hall. The eminent speaker, Dr. P. MUTHUKUMAR ME, Ph.D, Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, was invited to address the gathering on the issue.

SAE-India had arranged an industrial visit for our students at “ASHOK LEYLAND TECHNICAL CENTRE”, located at Vellivayal Chavadi, nearby Manali in Chennai, on 22.10.2016. Three students were recommended to go for industrial visit and they were taken to the company.

An industrial visit was arranged with the “RAMCO CEMENTS PRIVATE LIMITED” (Cement Production Plant), located at Alathiyur, near Virudhachalam on 23.09.2016. Third year students were taken to visit, mainly for enhancing their practical knowledge about the Automation, Production,Processing,safety and Maintenance areas.

Industrial visit to “TNSTC Bus Body Building Unit”
An industrial visit was arranged with the “TNSTC BUS BODY BUILDING UNIT” (Service and Maintenance of Corporation Buses), located at Orikkai, near Kanchipuram. Two batches of final year students on 20.09.2016 & 21.09.2016 were taken to visit.

The Inaugural function of SAE INDIA was conducted by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Adhi College of Engineering and Technology on 10-09-2016 at 12.30 P.M. in Conference Hall.Welcome address for SAEISS-Collegiate Club inaugural function was given by Mr.V.Paranthaman, HOD-Mechanical.Dr. A. Devaraju, Principal, introduced Mr. Pradeep, Chaiman of SAE Mahindra & Mahindra and Mr. Balasubramainiyan, and he shared his experiences about the importance of membership in SAE India. All the Students and the Staff of Mechanical Department attended the inaugural function.

Our 2nd year students were taken to visit the Tejo Engineering Ltd, Sholavaram, Chennai, on 29-aug-2016 in order to study the various processes involved in the production of rubber products for different applications.

The lecture entitled "Job Opportunities for Mechanical Engineering in Private and Government Sectors" was delivered by Mr.C.Jayakumar on 25-aug-2016. He acknowledged the value in breaking an issue down to its fundamentals to help students ga in a better understanding not onl y of the issues, but of the methods that could be used to address them. Our students felt that the lecture was useful indeed.

Six final year students of our department were permitted to undergo in plant training in “APPLICATIONS OF EMBEDDED SYSTEMS IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING” at One Yes Technologies in Chennai, recently. In plant training was held between 17.08.2016 and 19.08.2016.

The Mechanical Farewell 2016 was celebrated on 30.04.2016 by the II and III year students. The entire student community of Mechanical shared their hearty feelings of pride and joy. The seniors reminiscing their four year experience, advised the juniors to come out with flying colors. The juniors gave them a spirited send off, wishing all success in their professional Careers ahead.
