PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOs)

PEO 1:
To provide a strong foundation to excel in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering with the supporting knowledge of Mathematics, Science, Computer programming and Engineering fundamentals.
PEO 2:
To provide in-depth knowledge in the discipline of Electronics and Communication Engineering and to apply their knowledge creatively in the real-time applications for advanced research activities beneficial to the society.
PEO 3:
To develop the necessary skills to design and implement real time projects. Enhance the ability to formulate, analyze and execute innovative research projects.
PEO 4:
To develop the ability to initiate, coordinate and share the information through verbal and non-verbal communication to enhance the leadership qualities.
PEO 5:
To provide in-depth technical expertise for their lifelong learning through continual education and industrial practice. To create awareness on professional ethics and responsibility to facelift the society and the environment.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES (POs)

Engineering Graduates will be able to:
1.Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
2.Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
3.Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
4.Conduct investigations of complex problems:Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
5.Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
6.The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
7.Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
8.Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
9.Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
10.Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
11.Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multi disciplinary environments.

ECE graduates will be able to:
13.Designing and Programming Skills: Design the Electronic circuits and communication systems in hardware and simulate it virtually.
14.Implementation and Controlling Skills: Implement the designed system into an electronic product and control it technically to meet the desired specifications and requirements.
15.Testing & Trouble Shooting Skills: Test and trouble shoot the faults and bugs in the designed system to enhance the throughput.

Ms.S.Dhivya, (IV Year ECE) has secured Second place at Anna University Zonal Athletic Meet 2016-17 under the event of High Jump held at Sri Sairam Engineering college, Chennai.

Ms.S.Dhivya, (IV Year ECE) has secured First place at Anna University Zonal Athletic Meet 2016-17 under the event of 200 MTS held at Sri Sairam Engineering college, Chennai.

Mr.J Madhanraj (IV year ECE) was secured I place in the event ‘Technical Quiz”, event as a part of the technical symposium on 'E3 TECHNOVATE 2K17' at University College of Engineering, Kanchipuram on 3rd March 2017. And he was participated in the Circuit Debugging another event in the same program.

About Electronics & Communication Engineering

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was started in the year 2008. It offers a UG programme, B.E.in Electronics and Communication Engineering and PG programme, M.E. in Communication Systems. Both the programmes are approved by AICTE, New Delhi and recognized by Anna University, Chennai. The department has a team of committed faculty members who are well qualified and are backed by rich teaching and research experience.
