The Department of Computer Science and Engineering provides the students a sound foundation of theory, concepts, in-depth working knowledge in technology and hands on experience in computer Science and Engineering.
To provide quality technical education and develop professionals imparting human values, employability, entrepreneurship and research capabilities, to meet the challenges in the globalized technological society and to strengthen the industry-academic partnership for the benefit of both.
To provide a strong foundation to excel in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering with the supporting knowledge of Mathematics, Science, Computer programming and Engineering fundamentals.
To provide in-depth knowledge in the discipline of Electronics and Communication Engineering and to apply their knowledge creatively in the real-time applications for advanced research activities beneficial to the society.
To develop the necessary skills to design and implement real time projects. Enhance the ability to formulate, analyze and execute innovative research projects.
To develop the ability to initiate, coordinate and share the information through verbal and non-verbal communication to enhance the leadership qualities.

Engineering Graduates will be able to:
1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
6. The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
6. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
8. Ethics: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.

CSE graduates will be able to:
ACET has excellent and well-equipped air-conditioned laboratories with state-of-the art computing facilities, equipped with latest Pentium Systems along with updated versions of latest software and hardware. The department also has 50 KVA power backup and 20 Mbps Leased Line Internet connectivity for the benefit of the students.
The infrastructure of the Department includes class rooms equipped with smart boards, modern audio video aids, tutorial rooms, etc.
The Department has laboratories namely RDBMS Lab, Graphics and Multimedia Lab, Computer Programming Lab, Case Tools Lab, Project Lab etc., These laboratories include IBM X55 Series server and IBM Series X56 Servers and a cluster of Ethernet LANs and stand alone personal computers.

The CSE Department organized a Guest Lecture on “Compiler Design” 21st March 2016 with Mr.M. Shanmuga Sundaram ,Associate Professor, RMK college of Engineering and Technology.He discussed the topics Top down Parsing LL(1) Parser problem, Bottom Up Parsing, L(0), SLR, CLR, LALR and so on.
CEBROID 2K15 is the Third National level technical symposium jointly organized by The Department of Computer Science and Engineering & Information Technology on 18th March 2015. Computer Society of India is the first and largest body of computer professionals in India. It was started on 6 March 1965 by a few computer professionals and has now grown to be the national body representing computer professionals. It has 72 chapters across India, 511 student branches, and 100,000 members.
The Computer Society of India is a non-profit professional meet to exchange views and information learn and share ideas. The wide spectrum of members is committed to the advancement of theory and practice of Computer Engineering and Technology Systems, Science and Engineering, Information Processing and related Arts and Sciences.
The Society also encourages and assists professionals to maintain integrity and competence of the profession and fosters a sense of partnership amongst members. Besides the activities held at the Chapters and Student Branches, the Society also conducts periodic conferences, seminars
CSI has been in close liaison with International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP) since its inception in 1965, when observers from India attended the IFIP Council meeting. Since 1974, when CSI became a member of IFIP, CSI has organized many IFIP sponsored events and was host to the 1978 Council meeting in Bombay and 1988 General Assembly in New Delhi. It represents India in technical committees and working groups of IFIP.
ICT Academy is an initiative of the Government of India in collaboration with the state Governments and Industries. ICT Academy is a not-for-profit society, the first of its kind pioneer venture under the Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) model that endeavours to train the higher education teachers and students thereby exercises on developing the next generation teachers and industry ready students.
ICT Academy was started to meet the skill requirements of the industry and generate more employment especially in tier 2 and 3 towns, the rural parts of the country.
